Week 13.1 - A3 Flowchart

Once the video was complete, and while coding is still being adjusted and modified, I have made a draft flowchart that while it covers majority of the interactions, I feel, depending on what the end code is, is missing a couple directions or options if that be the case. While the flowchart seems to cover both forward and backward pathways, there is one aspect (in the close up picture below) that I'm not 100% sure with at the moment - this mainly due to not finishing the code here but also the question that I've been asking my self is that if that reaches this point, 000 must be called for immediate assistance if the bag is empty, so how would my code call 000? And the answer, at least as I write this, is it won't. The design is a monitoring device that informs that user of whats happening below, it keeps them up to date. Week 12.6 - Refining Design

I've 3D printed off a couple of watch/band covers and have laser cut the watch strap in parts as is seen in previous posts. I'm quiet happy with the fit but the size (which I have made to fit the Adafruit display screen I bought from Jaycar) is a little bulkier than I would like though its still a good fit. The sketch below, is one I'm envisioning in my head and what I hope prints well tomorrow, though I have my doubts due its size and detail, especially the slight curve on the bottom that may be hard to print. I have also made the wrist strap using laser cut, where I have panels that will be joined together with rings for a different effect. I suprised myself with how much I liked the look but I also think in the final design a simple metal wrist strap would be nice or even leather for a bit more of a classic look. Week 12.5 - A3 Video

On Saturday I went to UQ to make a QUT video. The irony wasn't lost on me :) Anyway, my friend kindly agreed to help me make a video with my monitoring device. The below video is a snip it of some of the footage we took...want to keep some things for the final reveal on Thursday. But the video shows scenes from my storyboard that I worked on last week. We tried to encompass what my design can do and the many ways it solves a need that I have identified. 

Week 12.4 - A3 Coding

 A3 Coding - Wasn't on the right track but now I hopefully am Coding for this has been a nightmare. The good news is that I finally got the LED light working, where I can turn it on and off with the remote thanks to the help of another collegue. The video below shows that achivement. The bad news is that instead of trying to use the infrared led senders and transmitters that I have, I have been strongly advised to switch and insteead buy beam breakers, which I found and orderded today cause trusty Jaycar don't have it. Though good news as well is that the display screen works! Week 12.3 - A3 CAD model

 From my sketches and using organims for the wrist, I design a CAD model, a simple two piece watch to put the inside components. I also used laser cutting for the wrist strap as well. This will be stitched together and use magnetic to close it. Video of laser cutting for the wrist strap pieces. I than printed the CAD model and sanded them for painting.

Week 12.2 - A3 Finalising Concept

 This week was all about getting the last minute details and making slight changes to improve the designs. The below images are some sketches of how the watch part of the design would look like. I used the apple watch for inspiration. The watch had to be enough for a small wrist (ergonimics) but also be still clearly readable and visible.
